How Green Iguanas Became Invasive
Green iguanas are native to Central and South America but were introduced to Florida, Hawaii, Texas, and parts of the Caribbean through the pet trade. Escaped or released pets established breeding populations in warm, humid climates that closely resemble their native habitat.
