Primary Filming Location
Stranger Things 2 was filmed primarily in and around Atlanta, Georgia. The production used Atlanta studios and nearby neighborhoods to stand in for the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana.
Key On-Location Sites
Many exterior scenes were shot in Georgia towns such as Douglasville, Fairburn, and Senoia. The show also used areas near the Atlanta metro region to capture forests, roads, and small-town streets.
Studio and Soundstage Work
Interior sets, including the Byers house and Hawkins High School scenes, were built on soundstages in the Atlanta area. The production relied on local crew and regional facilities to support the larger scale of Season 2.
