Reed Hastings was born on October 8, 1960, in Boston, Massachusetts. He graduated from Bowdoin College in 1983 with a degree in computer science and later earned a master’s degree in computer science from Stanford University.
Career and Netflix
Before Netflix, Hastings co-founded Pure Software, a tools company for software developers. In 1997, he co-founded Netflix with Marc Randolph as a DVD-by-mail service. Netflix later became a leading streaming platform, transforming the entertainment industry.
