Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, known as Bad Bunny, was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Before music, he worked as a bag boy at a supermarket and studied audiovisual communication at the University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo.
How Bad Bunny Started in Music
He began uploading songs to SoundCloud while still a student. His early tracks blended reggaetón and Latin trap, gaining local attention. In 2016, he released his first independent single, which helped him build a small but growing fan base.
First Breakthrough and Early Recognition
Bad Bunny gained wider notice after collaborating with Latin artists and appearing on playlists. His breakout came with the 2018 single "Soy Peor," which charted on Billboard and signaled his arrival in the mainstream Latin music market.
